Gros Ventre Slide
Located in the Gros Ventre wilderness
are the results of massive landslide occuring june 23, 1925 which
dammed up the Gros Ventre River. The dam gave way two years later in
a wall of water and debris that devastated the small town of Kelly just
downstream.
Periodic Spring
About 5 miles east of Afton on Swift Creek Rd
is a spring that ceases its flow every 18 minutes and that erupts in
thunderous torrent of cold rocky mountain spring water. The cycle
occurs regularly for 9 months of the year.
Teton Wilderness
585,468 acre backcountry area in the
Bridget-Teton Nat'l Forest and accessible only by foot or horseback.
