Grand Tetons Tour
U.S. National Park
The Grand Tetons are tall sharp peaks created by fault-block action. The mountains and valley show abundant evidence of glacial activity. What makes these peaks some inspiring is their lack of foothills which usually obscure the view. These peaks rise steeply some 5000 to 8000 feet from the valley floor. They consist primarily of granite rock.
.
Great nearby recreational activities include famous ski resorts, fishing, whitewater rafting,
hunting, sightseeing at national parks, hiking, biking, snowmobiling and horseback riding.
Golfers will enjoy playing a round at either The Links at Teton Peaks or Powder Horn Ranch
& Golf Club, all just minutes away.

Grand Teton National Park was established in 1929 and is dominated by Grand Teton (13,766 ft) covering most of the glaciated Teton
Range. It was expanded in 1950 to include part of the Jackson Hole a very scenic stretch of the upper Snake River Valley. Today its

previously purchased a vast portion of the area to hold in trust until it could be administered by the National Park Service.
The Grand Tetons are tall sharp peaks created by fault-block action (as opposed to Yellowstone which is result of
volcanic activity.) The mountains and valley show abundant evidence of glacial activity.
The first anglo explorer thru here was John Colter who had left the 1806 Lewis and Clark expedition.
After reporting the abundance of beaver here, the area became a magnate for mountain men, fur trappers and traders.
What makes these peaks some inspiring is their lack of foothills which usually obscure the view. These peaks
rise steeply some 5000 to 8000 feet from the valley floor. They consist primarily of granite rock.
