Tour Tortola

Tortola, largest (12 by 3 miles) and most inhabited island - it features a lush variety of tropical flora and fauna as well as sandy white beaches. There is also an abundance of mango and banana groves.

• Road Town - This town (pop. 3,200) is the capital of the British Virgin Islands. Visitors can stroll down Main Street of this serene colonial village and quaint shops.
• J.R. O'Neal Botanical Gardens - Located on the edge of Road Town, four-acre park features include orchid house, rain forest, cactus garden, palm grove.
• Sage Mountain National Park - Mount Sage is the highest point in the island chain (elev. 1,780 ft). Features remains of primeval rain forest and spectacular views of neighboring islands.
• Fort Recovery - Old Dutch fortress now developed as a small villa hotel.

Third largest and second most populated island.

• The Baths - Amazing rock formation of large granite conceals hidden sea pools.

Quiet isolated island, its beach cafes are a favorite local hangout.

Tour Anegada

Second largest island and also most remote, Anegada rises only 27 feet above sea level, 15 square miles of coral and limestone. More than 200 shipwrecks are located offshore. The island is the native home to the endangered rock iguana which can grow up to five feet long. Flamingos, osprey, herons and terns reside at the island's 1,100 acre bird sanctuary.

The most famous shipwreck to explore is the RMS Rhone. Formerly of the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, it hit Salt Island during a storm, broke in two and sunk. It is now a marine park.
