Avoca Museum

Located on the former homestead of Revolutionary patriot Col Charles Lynch, this 1901 Victorian home features artifacts from local American natives and the civil war.

Lynchburg Museum at the Old Courthouse

This Greek Revival style court building (built 1855) houses artifacts and memorabilia collected from early Monacan natives, Quaker settlers and the Civil War. Special exhibits cover the towns history as a tobacco trade center and modern industrial comblex.

Maier Museum of Art

Located on the campus of Randolph-Macon Woman's College, the musuems has a collection of American paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries. Regular changing exhibits.

Point of Honor

1815 house of Dr. George Cabell, friend and physician to patriot Patrick Henry and one of Lynchburg's most prominent citizens. The distinctive structure overlooks the James River and the interior woodwork and furnishings have been restored to their early appearance.

Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest

This unique house, one of two ever designed by Thomas Jefferson, was used by him when he visited his plantations in Bedford County. The brick octagonal shaped house is set within a villa landscape and feature Palladian style of architecture. House and grounds are currently undergoing resortation and archeological research.

Old Confederate Cemetary & Pest House Medical Museum
