    Natural Bridges National Monument
    Box 1, Lake Powell, UT 84533; (435) 692-1234;

    7,780-acre preserve off SR-95, 42 miles west of Blanding, to protect three massive natural bridges. Discovered in 1883 by a gold prospector, Cass Hite.

      Sipapu Bridge - The second largest natural bridge in the world. 268 feet long, 31 feet wide, 53 feet thick and 200 feet high.

      Kachina Bridge - The most massive of the group - 204 feet long, 210 feet high, 44 feet wide, 93 feet thick. Located 2.5 miles away at the juncture of Armstrong and White canyons.

      Owachomo Bridge - Smallest and oldest, is a narrow strip of rock - 180 feet span only 9 feet thick and 27 feet wide. It is fast approaching the time when weather and gravity will collapse and crash it to the earth.
