US National Forest preserve located in south-central Utah. A prominent landmark here is Fish Lake, Utah's largest fresh water lake. The forest was established in 1907 with over 1.5 million acres.
This area is a paradise known for its beautiful aspen forests, scenic byways, motorized and non-motorized trails, elk hunting, and mackinaw and trout fishing. Recreational adventures include scenic drives, mountain biking, snowmobiling, ATV use, hiking, and camping.
This nationally recognized trail winds through nearly 1,000 miles of the forest's most scenic terrain, over three mountain ranges, and through desert canyons.
Camping is limited to 60 days at Piute Parking.
Paiute ATV Trail -
The largest natural mountain lake in the state, Fishlake Forest offers trophy fishing and bird watching. The mountains of the Fishlake are a source of water for many of the neighboring communities and agricultural valleys in the region. Elk, deer, black bear, cougar and moose can be found on the Forest, as well as wild turkey and mountain goats.
A key element of the great scenery throughout Fishlake Forest are the many Aspen Groves. Aspens are native to cold regions with cool summers throughout the Northern Hemisphere, extending southwards at higher altitudes.
Aspens trees grow in giant colonies from a single root system which can live for many years.
Pando Tree, also known as the Trembling Giant, is an extremely large Aspen Grove in Fishlake Forest. It is believed to be the heaviest known living organism (6,600 tons) as well as the one of the oldest known living organisms (80,000 years).
Pando is located about 1 mile southwest of Fish Lake on State Highway 25.

Fremont Indian S.P.
This Utah State Park preserves an area rich in pre-historic native american rock art and other artifacts. It is located in Clear Creek Canyon at the crossing of the Paiute ATV Trail and I-70 Freeway in the heart of Fishlake National Forest.
The site was discovered during construction of Interstate 70, and thousands of artifacts have been excavated from the ancient village and put on permanent display at the museum there. The museum offers hiking trails and picnic areas.
Castle Rock Campground
Castle Rock Campground is nearby. It is the site of some spectacular towering white cliffs weathered out by the Sevier River.
It is part of the Marysvale volcanic field, an area that underwent intense volcanic activity between 27 and 19 million years ago. Lava flows, debris flows, and volcanic ash falls that accumulated during this time are more than a mile thick.
