    Bountiful North Canyon LDS Stake

    1206th Stake of the LDS Church was formed on 9 Nov 1980 with Robert Garff as first stake president.

    President Garff was an American businessman who is currently chairman of the Ken Garff Automotive Group. Garff served as speaker of the Utah State House of Representatives from 1985-1987. He was chairman of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics. From 1987 to 1990, Garff served as president of the church's England Coventry Mission. He then became a member of the church's General Sunday School Board in 1991 and a regional representative in the Syracuse Utah Region in 1992. In 2003, he became an Area Seventy serving in the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy.

    Mormon pioneers, led by Perregrine Session, established the first settlement in Bountiful in Sept 1847. The first of twelve stakes for Bountiful was organized in 1952.

    Bountiful Utah Mormon Temple

    8th Operating Temple in Utah and the first for Davis County. This majestic single-spire temple overlooks Bountiful and the Great Salt Lake. Dedicated in 1995, it serves LDS members in some 30 stakes of Davis County.

    Several sites feature a photo gallery, temple video, dedicatory prayer and articles explain why temples are so important to the Mormon faith.
