High Uintas Wilderness
High wilderness country that includes 276,157 acres of the Ashley National Forest and
180,530 acres of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
Elevations range from 6,000 feet to over 13,500 feet.
Lone Peak Wilderness Area
31,165 acres (20,829 acres on the Uinta NF, 10,336 acres on the Wasatch-Cache NF).
This area contains very rugged terrain with narrow canyons and high peaks,
including the Little Matterhorn at 11,326 feet and Lone Peak at 11,253 feet.
Snow often remains on these alpine peaks until midsummer.
