Rio Grande Railroad Depot - Salt Lake City
Located in the 1910-built Rio Grande Depot in Salt Lake City's historic Gateway District just west of downtown.
Home of the official state government agency charged with preserving and sharing Utah's Past for the Present and Future.
This office produces a large number of related publications and historical exhibits.
Tour Utah State Capitol Building

The Capitol Building will be closed 2004-2008 for a $200 million renovation project;
An elegant architectural masterpiece set on a 40-acre hilltop parcel overlooking the Salt Lake Valley.
The property includes beautifully maintained and sculpted lawns, trees, flowerbeds, and shrubs.
The building was constructed between 1912 and 1916, using granite from nearby Little Cottonwood Canyon and the dome is covered with Utah copper.
This is the Place Heritage Park
Authentically-costumed volunteers will conduct a number of pioneer activities at this recreation of an early pioneer village.
Visitors will see quilting, weaving on a loom from the pioneer period, woodstove bread baking and butter churning (with samples for everyone).
Also watch for blacksmiths, furniture makers, doll-makers, and see how the Deseret News use to get printed just one page at a time.
Historic Benson Grist Mill

For those of you who like to take a step back in time, Tooele County's Benson Grist Mill is the sight that can't be missed.
Now more than 150 years old, the mill was hailed as the most signifigant structural landmark between Salt Lake City and
Reno, Nevada when it was placed on the National Register of Historic Sites in 1972. Facilities include blacksmith shop,
pioneer home, country store and museum.

Rail Trail State Park
The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail is a 28-mile non-motorized trail. The trail begins or ends in Park City and follows
Interstate 80 through Wanship and Coalville to Echo Reservoir. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding,
jogging, Nordic skiing and wildlife watching.
Echo Canyon
The tiny town of Echo was once a bustling pit stop on the California Trail, The Overland Express
and ultimately the Union Pacific Railroad. Today the sleepy valley is almost as quiet as the day James E. Bromley settled the area in 1854.
Historic sites still standing are the Echo Church, Echo Schoolhouse, Post Office and Pony Express Monument.
Union Pacific Railroad Depot - Salt Lake City
A spacious building on the western edge of downtown Salt Lake City (built 1909)
where it harkens back to a more prosperous era in American railroad travel.
The sandstone building is constructed in French renaissance-style architecture and includes a tessera marble floor and stained glass windows
and features several murals depicting scenes of Utah history.
Lagoon Amusement Park
An older resort theme park located 17 miles north of Salt Lake City in Farmington.
Here you will find 35 thrill rides, six-acre beachfront waterpark and historic pioneer village.
Additionally there is live entertainment, shops, games and food.
Utah Museum of Natural History
State museum holds in trust artifacts and exhibits pertaining to the natural and cultural history of Utah.
Wide range of minerals, gems, plants, animals and early inhabitants. There are also many children's interactive exhibits spread across the six major galleries.
U.S. military historical exhibits range from the 19th-century to Operation Desert Storm and includes uniforms, tanks and artillery guns.
Fort Douglas is a former 9,000-acre military base located immediately east of the University of Utah.
Saltair Resort
This giant moorish style palace was built in 1893 on the south shore of the Great Salt Lake.
For many years it was a popular family resort destination known as the Coney Island of the West.
It burned down thrice, 1925, 1931 and again in 1970. It has been rebuilt and serves today mostly
as a hip-hop music concert venue.
Historic Gardner Village - West Jordan UT
Shop, dine and discover history in this landmark village that dates back to 1853.

What remains today is a cluster of specialty shops located in restored cabins, houses and buildings nestled adjacent to the Gardner Mill.
Morton Thiokol Rocket Display - Promontory Summit
Located off SR-83 about 25 miles west of Brigham City
- just a few miles past the golden spike turnoff;
The Morton Thiokol company (now owned by ATK) manufactured over the years a number of famous
solid-propellant rocket boosters, including several types of ICBM's and the Space Shuttle Boosters,
at a facility near here. Full scale prototypes of many of these are on display in this outdoor setting.
