Easily the best theme park in Eastern Tennessee, there was a lot of action and fun to entertain us for the two days we visited. A number of the rides and show performers started here before the park was acquired by Dolly Parton.
The main theme revolves around the childhood memories of Dolly Parton who grew up and started her highly successful music career in this neck of the woods. Her talent for showmanship carries over into the high number of quality shows that are constantly running here.
Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge (near Gatlinburg and Sevierville which both offer direct trolly service). Be sure to ask your guide for local tips on how to beat the traffic congestion, which could be a problem.
Additional vacation adventure opportunities are less than 10 miles away at Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Townsend, Dollywood and Great Smokies NP.
