America’s first drive-through cageless zoo, Lion Country Safari
has been a leader in conservation since 1967 by providing a habitat in which many endangered or threatened
species live and reproduce.
Today the park encompasses over 1000 animals, 5 miles of drive-though preserve, over 200
campsites, 6 stores, 2 food outlets, a water plant, a sewer plant, a veterinary hospital, an animal
demonstration theater, a summer day camp, gas station, and 120 employees who work to care
for animals, maintain, and operate the facility.

Campground facilities include: Full hook-up, shady pull-through sites with concrete patio and picnic tables.
There is a general store, gas heated swimming pool, handicapped accessible restrooms, shuffle board, basketball,

Safari Day Camp - Youth Summer Program
Each day features different animal themes providing kids with hands on educational experience with animals, birds
and reptiles.
Scout Workshops This park offers a variety of special workshops for Boy and Girl Scouts.
A 4.2 mile scenic drive through an open safari with over a thousand animals.
This 500-acre preserve includes giraffes, wildebeests, rhinoceroses, elephants, lions,
zebras, monkeys, tortoises, water buffalo and many other exotic creatures that roam free.
Visitors must stay inside their cars with windows and doors closed.
No convertibles allowed. Rental cars are available.
This preserve is divided into the following sections:
Las Pampas: Grasslands cover about a quarter of the earth's land mass and are called by many different names.
Ruaha National Park: This unspoiled African wilderness is known for its variety of wildlife.
Kalahari Bushveldt:A dry plateau roughly 500 square miles in size located in Southwest Africa.
Gir Forest: A well-known National Park in India.
The Gorongosa: Famous wildlife area of Northern Mozambique.
Serengeti Plains: Famous East African wildlife areas.
Hwange National Park: Famous reserve located in Western Zimbabwe.
Safari World, the walk-through area of the park, has been developed and improved since the
park opened. The restaurant and gift shops were among the earlier additions. The petting zoo,
merry-go-round, boat rides, aviaries, bird, reptile, alligator, and squirrel monkey exhibits,
added over the years, have greatly enhanced the visitors' experience at the park. The KOA
Campground was opened in the 1980's to provide overnight accommodation for visitors.
Animal Theater - Daily presentations help you learn all about our
furred, feathered, or scaly friends from all over the globe in one of several themed presentations.
Safari Queen -where you will learn about the siamangs and spider monkeys that inhabit the islands of Lake Shanalee.
Petting Zoo - Visitors of all ages have the opportunity to pet and feed animals
Bird Feeding - The many species of birds in Safari World are in the three
free-flight aviaries, crane island, and parrot areas.
Alligator Moat - Across from the Petting Zoo is where our American alligators are kept, with a special presentation daily at 3PM.
