Miami Beach (pop: 90,200) is located on the opposite side of Biscayne Bay. In the early 1900's, developer John Collins promoted the island as a upscale residential community and by the 1920's the land boom was in full swing. Today the many oceanfront boulevard (Collins Avenue) is lined with high-rise resort hotels that look out east over the Atlantic Ocean and west over the bay to the Miami skyline.

Major attractions in the area include The Holocaust Memorial, Parrot Jungle Island and Miami Seaquarium. Most guests experience the bright architecture of the South Beach' Art Deco District.

Beaches

Ziff Jewish Museum of Florida

The museum is housed in a restored art deco synagogue. Core exhibits traces 235 years of Jewish life and worship in Florida.

Housed in a renovated 1920's art deco styled warehouse, this facility is a museum, library and research center for famous artwork from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Lincoln Road Pedestrian Mall - South Beach

Some refer to this shopping district as the Fifth Avenue of South Florida. This 12-block district is a mecca for shoppers of discriminating tastes. Over 170 specialty shops and restaurants including many serving international cuisine in indoor/outdoor cafe settings. It includes many designer shops on nearby Ocean Drive, Collins and Washington Avenues including Hugo Boss, Nicole Miller, Gucci, Armani Exchange, Vertigo and Versace. Many art galleries and collectible shops also.
Espanola Way - a narrow street of flamingo pink buildings housing a cluster of art galleries, boutique shops and restaurants.
