Mission Santa Barbara - Queen of the Missions
Founded Dec 4, 1786 on the Feast of St. Barbara and completed in 1820.
This is one of the best preserved of the old Spanish Mission of California.
Only mission to stay in continuous use since founding. Original missionary
residence and guest rooms are now a museum exhibit. Many examples of early
Mexican art including an 1808 Moorish fountain.

The museum showcases a rich collection of Early California artifacts dating back to the 15th century including
artifacts from Chumash Indians, Spanish, Mexican, Chinese and European cultures that dwelt here.
Home of the Gledhill Library.
Two settings reminescent of Early California that will enhance any special event.
- Museum Courtyard - Surrounded on three sides by the warm earth tones of an adobe cloister
- Casa Covarrubias - Shaded by a sturdy oak, the courtyard of this 1817 adobe envokes a time when life was lived at a slower pace.

Carriage and Western Art Museum of Santa Barbara

Exhibits of saddles, horsedrawn carts, wagons and carriages.
Many of the carriages are driven every August in the Old Spanish Days Fiesta parade.

South Coast Railroad Museum

This museum is housed inside the wooden 1901 Goleta Train Depot
which saw continuous service until 1973. Museum includes an old
Southern Pacific caboose, a 300-square-foot HO model railroad layout,
and many other pieces of railroading memorabilia.
Carpinteria Valley Museum of History

Exhibits about early local history include special features about
the Chumash Indians, turn of the century asphalt mining, farming and
schooling.
Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum

Established in 1983, this library houses an
extensive set of original and facsimile manuscripts of books,
treaties, maps, letters and musical scores - some over 200 years old.
Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

University Art Museum - UCSB

Established in 1959, as a gallery dedicated to art education at UC Santa Barbara, it now serves as a unique
educational resource for academic and community audiences throughout the region.
Today, the UAM has a distinguished Fine Art Collection of over 8,500 works and over 750,000 architectural drawings,
historic photographs, writings, scrapbooks, and three-dimensional objects in the Architecture and Design Collection.

Santa Maria Museum of Flight

Two aircraft hangers are home to a collection of historic planes
including the Fleet Model 2 and StinsonV77-Reliant.
Big range of other historical exhibits includes the once "top secret"
Norden bombsight and its accessories.
