A unique 37-acre estate and botanic garden situated in the foothills of Montecito to the east of the city of Santa Barbara.
The gardens now covering the estate were created by famed Polish opera singer Madame Ganna Walska, who owned the property from 1941

Ellwood Grove - Monarch Butterfly Roosting Site
Location: Follow US-101 north from Goleta to Glen Annie/Storke Road, turn left and then turn right
on Hollister Ave then left on Coronado Street and continue to where the street ends overlooking the ocean.
Every October thousands of butterflies return to this winter home located in a dense vertical stand of
Eucalyptus trees. It is a must see for butterfly enthusiasts. Ellwood Mesa provides great views of
the Channel Islands and is home to Red-tailed Hawk, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Brown Pelicans, Seagulls, and Yucca Trees.
