Topanga Canyon State Park
Located in the cliffs and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga State Park features 36 miles of trails through open grassland, live oaks and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Excellent recreational opportunities for hikers as well as mountain bikers (restricted to fire roads) and equestrians. Popular features include mountain wildflowers and Trippet Ranch Nature Center.

Hahamongna Watershed Park

Located in Pasadena between the Angeles National Forest and the Rose Bowl on the Arroyo Seco, the 1300-acre Hahamongna Watershed Park provides magnificent views of the San Gabriel Mountains. It also contains Johnson Field, an inactive spreading basin, which is used for informal recreational activities, as well as a series of active spreading basins. The Oak Grove area is divided into two areas, the Upper Oak Grove and the Lower Oak Grove. The Upper Oak Grove facilities include picnic facilities, restrooms, a maintenance building and the equestrian staging area. The Lower Oak Grove facilities include group picnicking area, a multi-purpose play field, rest rooms and a disc golf course.

So. California Mountain Ski Resorts
There are six major ski resort areas operating in the San Bernardino Mountains, less than one hour away from the greater metropolitan area. Activities offer include traditional alpine skiing, snowboarding, family winter fun zones, ski schools and more. Ski season usually runs from December to April. And during the off-season, these mountain areas are also a great place to visit to enjoy suberb scenic vistas.
