Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds
Over 360 acres and hosts more than 1 million visitors annually.
The racetrack was famous for years as a favorite hangout for many Hollywood celebrities.
There are a number of big shows, expos, concerts, and festivals scheduled here throughout the year.

California Whale Watching Tours : Jan-Mar
From January through March, some 28,000 Pacific Gray Whales make their annual migration up along
the coast to their summer Alaska feeding grounds. During the summer Blue and Humpback Whales also
come to visit the local waters delighting visitors with upclose encounters.
Carlsbad Flower Fields [MAR-MAY]
Located on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the junction of I-5
freeway and Palomar Airport Rd, the Flower Fields transform each year
into a giant 50-acre rainbow of country when millions of brightly
colored Ranunculus blossoms come to life. Guests experience the brilliant yellow,
orange, soft rose, pink, red and white flowers glistening in the sun.
Summer Concert Series
Quail Botanical Gardens
The only botanical garden in San Diego County, this park has one of the world's most
diverse plant collections. Scenic trails take visitors to 20 unique gardens, a 60 foot
waterfall in a tropical rain forest and North America's largest display of bamboo.
San Diego Padres [APR-SEP]
Come watch the Padres play in San Diego's new signature baseball park.
Petco Park is located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter and opened to the public in April 2004.
This facility, which includes some quirky features and a 95-year-old warehouse, is sure to a hit a home run with local fans.
San Diego Chargers [SEP-DEC]
The Chargers were one of the original eight teams of the AFL founded in 1960.
In the years since then, the Chargers have made seven trips to the playoffs and three appearances in the
AFC Championship game. At the end of the 1994 season, the Chargers faced the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX and fell 49-26.
San Diego Holiday Bowl DEC
Major collegiate football championship game played in San Diego in late December.
Intercollegiate Championship Football Game played at Qualcomm Stadium one evening in the last week of December.
For over 25 years the Holiday Bowl features the Pacific-10 Conference runner-up against the third selection from the Big 12 Conference.
San Diego Poinsettia Bowl - DEC
Annual football game started in 2005 by the San Diego Bowl Game Association.
The game is proceeded by special events at the Zoo, Sea World and USS Midway featuring the
opposing teams and other celebrities.

San Diego Scottish Highland Games - Vista [Late JUN]
Popular annual event since 1973 featuring traditional Scottish athletics, bagpiping, drumming, highland dancing.
Other events include sheep dog trials, country dancing, free celtic concert.
San Diego Summergrass Festival - Vista [AUG]
Bluegrass Music Festival - Three Day Concert Event
A great family friendly weekend of live bluegrass bands, music workshops,
impromptu jam sessions, vendors, special kid's activities, tasty food, plenty of onsite dry camping.
Julian Apple Days - [OCT]
Highlights include apple displays, kids games,antique tractor display, beer and wine garden, music and karaoke, themed food and merchandise.
Guests also enjoy apple pie contest and dinner dance featuring live music.
Julian Country Christmas [DEC]
Indulge in a Victorian Christmas tea, sing Christmas carols with costumed holiday carolers,
sip a cup of hot chocolate or spiced cider. And you can watch the annual Living Nativity
tableau, cuddle under a blanket while riding down Main Street in a carriage.
