San Dieguito County Park - Del Mar CA
The four reservable picnic areas at this park are set among towering eucalyptus groves that characterize this part of the county.
Only minutes from the ocean, this park is cooled by the sea breezes during warm summer months.
A ball field, basketball court, play areas, and hiking trails are nearby for picnickers to enjoy.
Torrey Pines State Reserve
Encompasses 2000 acres of coastal bluff, home to the protected rare Torrey Pines trees.
The Torrey pine is the rarest native pine in the United States. This preserve has oer eight miles of
trails that take you to the coastline and coastal lagoon.
Otay Valley Regional County Park

The regional park will extend about 11 miles inland from the southeastern edge of the salt ponds at the mouth of the river, through the Otay River Valley, to the land surrounding both Lower and Upper Otay Lakes.
Currently there are no active or passive recreational areas in the park, other than the County-owned and operated facility at Otay Lakes.
It will provide South Bay residents and visitors recreational opportunities ranging from playing fields and picnic areas to hiking, biking, and horse trails.
At the same time, the park will protect open space, wildlife, historic, agricultural, and archaeological resources.
Tijuana River Valley Regional Park

This 1638-acre park offers a diverse array of habitats that enhance visitors' experiences -- from dense riparian forests along the Tijuana River to coastal maritime sage scrub on top of Spooner's Mesa.
Visitors may hike or ride a horse along miles of trails, or bring your binoculars to see birds in one of the best bird watching spots in the county.
Another popular feature of the park is the Community Garden at Hollister and Sunset, which provides area residents a place to exercise their green thumbs.
Sweetwater Regional Park

Visitors to this 539-acre regional park have quite a palette of activities to choose from. The Summit Site, atop a hill overlooking the Sweetwater Valley,
offers modern campsites – including some with corrals for equestrians who want to bring their horses and explore the 15 miles of trails in the area.
Below the summit are hundreds of acres of streamside vegetation, grassland, and open areas that provide a variety of habitats for hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers.
