Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters - New in 2005
Newly added in the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland is this attraction where guests board a moving space vehicle fully equipped with real lazer blaster guns and get to target shoot through a whole series of fun targets. I had so much fun firing my blaster that it was until the end ride was almost over that I fugured out you can use the steering wheel to steer your spacecraft to better face the targets.

Beat the Long Lines
1) Check our RideMax.com carefully researched data base of how to ride the maximum number of the big rides on even the busiest days.
2) There are times when FastPass works wonders. Like bypassing a line wait of over 80 minutes long, ride a screaming fun roller coaster, and then, less than five minutes after getting off, the ride breaks down and everyone else wanders away in disappointment. FastPass works by allowing you to get an automatic placeholder in line (limit one per person every two hours) so that you can enjoy some other attraction.
3) You still may want to avoid busy holidays and the peak travel season altogether.

#1. New Orleans Square Date
Treat yourselves to a nice sit down dinner at the Blue Bayou Restaurant (located adjacent to the Pirates of the Caribbean). Nearby is the Haunted House, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indian Jones adventure rides.

#2. See Fantasmic
Show up early and catch a few rides of your favorite Disneyland rides. By 8PM head over to the Royal Street Veranda in New Orleans Square for a meal of Chowder, Gumbo or Orleans style Fritters. Save your seat for a great spot to see the evening spectacular Fantasmic. Afterwards catch some more rides until they kick you out of the park.

#3. Tomorrowland
This is a fun exciting, high energy place to visit at night. Catch a few rides and then see what hot band is playing at the Buzz Band Stage.

#4. Paradise Pier
Located on the far side of California Adventure, this place perfectly recreates a California evening boardwalk experience. Catch the Electric Light Parade at 8:45 and watch for a major band to perform near the main entrance afterwords. Along the way, catch the Soarin' Over California ride.

National Parks in Southern California
Death Valley National Park - The canyon and mountain walls of Death Valley change color with the shifting sunlight. Other landscape features: large sand dune formations, sculpted rocks, isolated valleys, and volcanic craters.
Joshua Tree National Park - Scenic desert preserve habitat with many unusual plants found here including Joshua trees, cactus, ocotillo, smoke treess, palo verdes, pinon pins, yucca plants. The best time to visit is early spring when a big array of desert wildflowers reach full bloom.

ToonTown
On the farside of Disneyland. This place was made for little kids. Mini-coaster, Cartoon Spin, playgrounds and fun house. Bring a camera, there are a lot of opportunities for your little one to meet a famous Disney charater

A Bugs Land
This is California Adventures special zone for kids. Lots of fantasy rides, bumbercars, 3D Movie and a great spot to catch the Electric Light Parade in the evening.

Fantasyland
The original kid fun zone with famous storybook rides such as Peter Pan, Dumbo, Pinnochio, Casey Jr Circus Train, and the Storyland Canal Boat Ride.

  A Meal With Character
  Looking for a meal with real character-or should we say "Characters"? Then take your family to one of the fun-filled Character Meal experiences at the Disneyland Resort Hotels. Each morning, Minnie and Friends welcome Guests to Disney's PCH Grill in Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel for a breakfast buffet. While Chip 'n' Dale start the day with a little silliness-and a lot of great food-at Storytellers Café at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. And, of course, food and fun are always on the menu at Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel.

Tour La Jolla
This scenic resort community is located on the coast north of San Diego It is an exciting mixture of sea caves, tide pools and wide beachfronts. Look for the famous La Jolla Cove which recently has become a popular retreat for California Sea Lions and other marine life. With its striking Mediterranean influence La Jolla has gained a well-deserved reputation as one of the most beautiful vacation destinations imaginable.

Disney Resort - Ultimate Vacation
This could be a great honeymoon idea for young newlyweds - spend a week at the park. Stay at one of the nicer hotels and get a five-day Disney Resort pass good at both Disneyland and California Adventure.

From the Disneyland Hotel you can ride the Monorail from the hotel lobby directly into the park and bypass the long lines at the main gate. The Grand Californian has its own admission gate to California Adventure.

Start the day early at the parks. When it gets crowded at mid-day, get your handstamped and stroll over to Downtown Disney to unwind. Later that day you get re-enter the park for more fun. Follow this link for some great datenight adventure ideas.

You can also slip in a couple of extra days to visit the local beaches, take a day cruise to Catalina Island, or see one or more of the other Southern California theme parks such as Knotts, Six Flags, Universal Studios, Legoland, Sea World San Diego or the San Diego Zoo.

Also look for a night out on the town to one of these nearby sports or concert venues: Arrowhead Pond, Edison Field, Angels Baseball, Mighty Ducks, or the Grove of Anaheim.

Disneyland Half Marathon [Labor Day]
