Exhibits portray the history of the Mojave River Valley from the arrival of Father Garces in 1776 on through pathfinders, pioneers, miners and the present space program.
Actual artifacts from the famous Calico Early Man site are on display. Other displays include 19th century mining, gemstones & minerals, railroads, automotive,
local history including the first radio station on the high desert, and the famed "headless horseman" found in the desert in 1965.

Mojave Airport Storage Lot
Mojave Airport,
A giant parking lot of over 750 giant commercial aircraft in deep storage.
Most are mothballed, waiting to be returned to service, while the older craft are waiting to be
crunched into beverage cans. Jets include Boeing 747s and 777s and Airbus A320s located alongside a 50,000 foot runway,
one of the longest in the world.
Fort Irwin National Training Center

Military base located northeast of Barstow and encompasses nearly 260,000 hectares.
It is used as the United States Army’s center for desert training where training operations at the base
include large-scale ground maneuvers with tanks and wheeled vehicles, as well as live-fire and military training activities.

NASA's Goldstone Deep Space Network

70 Meter radio antenna dish. DSN is an international network of antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions and radio and radar astronomy observations for the exploration of the solar system and the universe. The network also supports selected Earth-orbiting missions.

Twenty Mule Team Museum

Located on a former borax mine campsite. Museum includes F-4 jet fighter and exhibits on local area history
including the borax mines, mule teams and Edwards AFB and NASA. Also on the grounds are early mining equipment
and an early 20th century railroad depot.
Goldstone JPL Facility - Ft Irwin CA
Deepspace Radio Network
Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex is located about 35 miles north of Barstow on the Ft. Irwin Military Base. Our tour begins at the Goldstone museum where three large areas are dedicated to current missions,
past missions, and Deep Space Network history - plus there is a hands-on room for children. The guided tour then travels around the 53-square-mile complex to view the large antennas. All tours must be scheduled in advance.
