Camp Pendleton USMC
The largest amphibious training facility in the nation, Camp Pendleton
covers 17 miles of Pacific coastline north of Oceanside. It is home to 35,000 active duty
Marines and their dependents of the U.S. 1st Marine Division and related units.
Includes two museums open to the public.
Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center [MCAGCC] - TwentyNine Palms
Since its creation in 1952 (at the height of the Korean War) as world's largest Marine Corps Base,
many hundreds of thousands of Marines have prepared for war here, practicing their war-fighting skills in the challenging
terrain and climate of the Mojave Desert.
China Lake Naval Weapons Testing Center
1723 sq mi weapons development facility and testing range
where nearly every weapon in the US arsenal has undergone testing.
There are two major geothermal power plants and numerous petroglyphs located in the
Coso Mountains on the north end of the reservation.

Chocolate Mountains Aerial Gunnery Range
456,000 acre (about 60 square-mile) restricted area on the east side of the Salton Sea.
It is used by the Navy and Marine Corps for aerial gunnery and bombing practice
ASMH Military Museum - South El Monte CA
Since 1962 the museum has collected and restored military vehicles from all four branches of the
United States Armed Forces - Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines.
Naval Base Coronado
The Birthplace of US Naval Aviation
This base has a long famous history connected to naval aviation and has been a San Diego landmark for many years.
This US Navy Base is responsible to arm, repair, train, and supply some 140 tenant commands of the US Pacific Fleet.
It oversees several facilities including air base, aircraft carriers, amphibious base and several training installations.
Facilities include NAS North Island, Amphibious Base, San Clemente Island and Silver Strand Training Complex.
Naval Base Point Loma>
Located at the mouth of San Diego harbor, Naval Base Point Loma comprises 316 acres on beautiful but rugged coastline,
although the main facilities are located on approximately 30 acres of relatively flat land. It has served primarily as a Submarine Base since
1959. Major warships based here is the Third Fleet command ship Coronado, and the five attack submarines of Submarine Squadron 11.
Naval Base San Diego
AKA: 32nd Street Naval Station
The base is located south of Downtown San Diego at the foot of 32nd Street near National City.
Naval Base San Diego is a major port of the US Pacific Fleet with over 50 warships stationed there.
There are also 50 tenant commands at Naval Station. The 14 Piers cover 12 miles of bayfront.
Over 35,000 military and more than 7,000 civilians personel work here.
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego
Established in 1940 as the US West Coast Battle Lab, SPAWAR and its systems centers provide much of the
tactical and non-tactical information management technology required by the Navy to complete its operational missions.
The Maritime Museum - San Diego Embarcadero
The Maritime Museum of San Diego features one of the finest collections of historic ships in the world, including; the world’s oldest active ship Star of India.
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park recreates life in the Mexican and early American periods of 1821 to 1872.
Five original adobes are part of the complex, which includes shops, restaurants and a museum. La Casa de Estudillo is a mansion built around a garden courtyard.
This park covers a six block area (bounded by Wallace, Juan, Twiggs and Congress sts) re-creating the founding of the first European settlement
in California. Presidio Park (located closeby) is the site of California's first mission and military fortress (1769).
MCRD San Diego Command Museum
Located at the historic San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot is
one of the most extensive and comprehensive displays of Marine Corps historical items in the Nation.
Warbirds West Air Museum - Gillispie Field
The museum hosts operations and Maintenance of Former US and Soviet Military Aircraft to attend Public Display
Airshows, in Southwestern US and conduct formation fly by's during the air shows.
Navy Yacht Club San Diego - Coronado CA
The Navy Yacht Club San Diego is an element of the Commanding Officer Naval Base Coronado's Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.
The club is located in facilities at the Fiddler’s Cove Marina, on Strand Way and is a branch of the United States Naval Sailing Association.
