Malibu Lagoon State Beach
The beach features wetlands, flower gardens and sandy beach. The lagoon is where Malibu Creek meets the sea. Malibu Surfrider Beach has a long standing as a premier surfing beach.
On the east side of Malibu Creek Bridge, Malibu Pier allows for excellent saltwater fishing. On the west side of Malibu Creek Bridge, visitors will find
picnic tables and a nature area, excellent for bird watching and a the study of a greatly diminished eco-system a Southern California saltwater marsh.
A museum is housed inside the Adamson House, a registered historical landmark, was built in 1929 as a showcase for Malibu Potteries.
Tour Torrey Pines
This scenic area is made famous by a rare coastal pine tree and is home to beach, lagoon, mesa
and two of the most picturesque championship 18-hole golf courses in the world. The PGA Tour visits at the beginning of each year
with the Buick Invitational.
Buena Vista Lagoon - South Oceanside
Buena Vista Lagoon is a 223-acre wetland habitat located within the cities of Carlsbad and Oceanside.
At least 103 bird species, 18 mammals, and 14 amphibians and reptiles live in and around the lagoon, and many more birds visit during spring and fall migrations.
Agua Hedionda Lagoon - Carlsbad CA
Both a nature encounter area and watersports (jet ski) area.

with many exciting activities including wakeboarding, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, peddleboating, waverunners, oceanography, beach games
Batiquitos Lagoon - South Carlsbad
Located on the south side of
Carlsbad. It forms the scenic backdrop for both the Aviara
and La Costa Country Clubs and Resort as well as many luxury homes
in the area.
San Elijo Lagoon - Ecological Preserve
The largest coastal wetland in San Diego County and a haven for more than 300 species of birds.
This brackish, shallow-water wetland is home to aquatic insets, small fish and waterfowl.
Hiking, jogging trials, bird-watching and nature photography. Docent led hike on second Saturday.
Tide Pool Explorers
There are many tidepools along the Southern California coast. The best time to visit is
during a low tide.

California Coastal Conservancy
Established in 1976, this state agency uses entrepreneurial techniques to purchase, protect, restore,
and enhance coastal resources, and to provide access to the shore. We work in partnership with local governments, other public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private landowners.
To date, the Conservancy has undertaken more than 1,000 projects along the 1,100 mile California coastline and around San Francisco Bay.
