Lancaster was the first community settled in the Antelope Valley. Born in the late 1800's as a prosperous community along the new Southern Pacific Railroad between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Now it has evolved from a farming community to a host city to one of the premier aviation research and development regions of the nation.
Lancaster, with a population of over 150,000 residents and located at an elevation of 2350 feet above sea level, is the hub of the Antelope Valley and home to the beauty and clear blue skies of the California High Desert.
Six Flags Magic Mountain - The Xtreme Park
A big 260-acre theme park and entertainment complex located in Santa Clarita. There are over 100 rides (including 16 super-scream roller coasters), shows and attractions. Next door is the Hurricane Harbor aquatic park with 22 big waterslides.

Antelope Valley Poppy State Nature Reserve
Each spring, the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve comes alive with the seasonal surprises of the Mojave Desert Grassland habitat. The duration and intensity of colors and scents vary from year to year, affected by differences in winter's precipitation.

Antelope Valley Indian Museum - Lancaster CA
Museum exhibits are housed in an unusual chalet palace built over a giant rock formation. Frequently hosts native american dances and cultural presentations.
Lancaster Jethawks
California Minor League Baseball [APR-JUN]
Class A affiliate farm team of the Houston Astros. Team mascots include KaBoom, Stealth and the Hawkettes. Home games are played at "The Hangar", where a NASA F/A-18 Hornet is mounted on display at the front entrance.
