Home of the Quechan (pronounced Kwuh-tsan) Indians, Fort Yuma-Quechan Reservation is located along both sides of the Colorado River near Yuma, Arizona.
For centuries they battled the Papago, Apache, and other tribes for control of the fertile flood plains of the Colorado River.
In addition to farming and the sand and gravel operation, this tribe counts heavily on winter tourism.

Chocolate Mountains Aerial Gunnery Range
Yuma Training Ranch Complex;

456,000 acre (about 60 square-mile) restricted area on the east side of the Salton Sea.
It is used by the Navy and Marine Corps for aerial gunnery and bombing practice,
primarily for aircraft based out of the Marine air station in Yuma, Arizona, and
the Navy at El Centro. Navy SEALs also practice desert warfare tactics on the range.
Administered by the Yuma Marine Corps Air Station.
El Centro NAS
Winter training facility for the U.S. Navy's Precision Flight Demonstration.
Each year they perform nearly 70 air shows at 33 locations in
the U.S. and Canada, entertaining over 17 million spectators. It serves
as positive role models and goodwill ambassadors for the US Navy and
Marine Corps.
Salton Sea Military Reservation
Abandoned base located on the southwest shore of the Salton Sea with all buildings torn down.
Was used in the 1950's as a missile test range by Sandia National Labs.
