The Rev. Herschell Harkins Memorial Pier (aka the Pacifica Pier) was built in 1973.
Many anglers rate this place as probably the best fishing spot of all of California's 92 fishing piers.
Pacifica Pier is the only place in the Bay Area, and on the California Coast, where you stand a decent chance of catching salmon without boarding a boat.
Shelldance Orchid Gardens

In 1949, Herb Hager, transformed this location from an artichoke field into state-of-the-art greenhouses
and operated under the name Vallemar Orchids.
On a crest in Pacifica with a sweeping view of the Pacific coastline, the nursery remains essentially unchanged over 50 years later.
Open to the public on weekends, Shelldance is how expanding its walk-in retail trade, in the Shelldance Gift Shop which includes sales of orchid supplies, incense, pottery, local art, and garden enhancements.
San Pedro Valley County Park

A vast area embracing the middle and south forks of San Pedro Creek, which are Steelhead
spawning grounds, this park is nestled amongst the Santa Cruz Mountain range and the foothills
of Pacifica. The park offers group picnic areas, family picnic sites with barbecue pits,
a self-guiding nature trail, hiking trails, a visitor center, and views of a seasonal water fall.
Hiking Trails - Park contains 7 trails offering a variety of habitats, lengths and levels of difficulty. One of the most scenic, Montara Mountain Trail (2.1 miles) offers views of Pacific Ocean, the Farallon Islands and the exterior of Pacifica.
Wildlife - Wildlife is abundant at San Pedro Valley where often seen are red-tailed Hawks, Turkey Vultures, Quail, Scrub Jays, and Garter Snakes. Those observed less frequently include Deer, Bobcats, Grey Fox, Raccoons, Rabbits and Gopher Snakes.
Group Camping - Overnight Area accommodates up to 15 youth and leaders. This area is available April-October by reservation only for organized youth groups
McNee Ranch State Park

One of the newest parks in the California State Park system, McNee Park is located on the San Mateo Co. coast between Montara and Pacifica.
Most of the trails are actually long-abandoned ranch or county roads up Montara Mountain to
offer impressive views of the Bay Area and faraway Farallon Islands.
Fitzgerald Marine Preserve

Provides a great opportunity for an upclose view of coastal tidepools and their inhabitants
including little hermit crabs, bright blue sea anemone, and little sculpins swimming about.
Sanchez Adobe Historic Site

A living history site that was occupied from prehistoric Indian times until
it became a historic landmark in 1953. It was an Indian village, a mission farm, a cattle ranch, the home of Francisco Sanchez
The old adobe home on the site, a fine example of authentic Monterey architecture, is the oldest building in San Mateo County.

The grounds include an old barn, formerly used to store oil, that has been converted into a meeting or party facility. Adjacent coastal Victorian buildings accommodate a youth hostel.

Opened in 1931, this par 72 course is 6,299 yards long and offers fabulous views of the Pacific Ocean and is set
