Bakersfield Half Marathon - Kern River [JAN]
The course is a flat, fast out and back on a bike path along the Kern River to the West from Yokuts Park. This is a good course for a PR.

Surf City USA Marathon - Huntington Beach Pier [FEB]
Formerly the Pacific Shoreline Marathon runs on Super Bowl Sunday Morning -
This exclusive oceanfront course is a classic California Dream. Run by the Huntington Beach pier and wind through the famed surfing beaches of Northern California.
Retro surf bands entertain along the way and the Finish Line Festival includes a beach side beer garden in the California sun. Finishers receive bodacious surfboard medals!
Palm Springs Half Marathon [FEB]
Half Marathon Race, Half Marathon Relay & 5K Race.
Death Valley Trail Marathon [FEB]
This is a scenic trail run along Westside Road, a dirt jeep road that runs parallel to Badwater Road along the valley floor and crosses the wide salt pan known as Devil's Golf Course.
Both distances run out-and-back along the flat course, which is entirely below sea level and surrounded by undisturbed desert wilderness.
Catalina Island Marathon - Catalina Island [MAR]
Runners World 2007 ranked this race as the #1 off-road marathon in the world.
Enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery while running 26.2 miles over the Island of Catalina.
The race traverses mostly dirt trails and roads through areas of the interior of the Island where very few have gone. The race starts in Two Harbors and runs to Avalon.
Six Tunnels Half Marathon - Lake Mead NV [MAR]
Try something really different. Run is on old railroad track long since removed and now part of the Rail-to-Trails Conservancy and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
We run right above Lake Mead for entire event where the runner passes through six (6) tunnels on this course in each direction.
Laughlin Half Marathon [Late Mar]
Run the River - course follows along the beautiful, winding Colorado river.
The traffic free course is a very flat Fire road that is mostly packed dirt with some gravel overlay.
Los Angeles Marathon [MAR]
The first L.A. Marathon attracted 10,868 participants, making it the largest inaugural marathon in history.
The largest single-day sporting event east of the Pacific and west of the Mississippi.
Race features live entertainment and finish line festival.
Over 100,000 people gather annually in this area to enjoy music, food and the many sponsor exhibits offering a wide away of fun for the entire family.
San Francisco Marathon [JUL]
The San Francisco Marathon™ is the “Coolest Summer Marathon!” The race course takes runners on a scenic tour of this California city, including running over the
Golden Gate Bridge. Race events include a Full Marathon, two Half Marathons (choose a half), 5K, and Progressive Marathon.
Jungle Run Half Marathon - Los Gatos CA [JUL]
Race starts and finishes in Los Gatos at the Los Gatos High School Track. The course extends North through the streets of Los Gatos and onto
the scenic Los Gatos Creek Trail at the Los Gatos Creek County Park in Campbell.
Disneyland Half Marathon [Labor Day]
The course starts at Anaheim Convention Center and heads direct through Disney's California Adventure® Park to the Disneyland® Park.
Then it is on to the scenic streets of Anaheim, past the Honda Center, home of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, along the Santa Ana Trail overlooking the Santa Ana River, through Angel Stadium,
and finally back through Disney's California Adventure® Park for an exciting finish of the Happiest Race on Earth.
Bakersfield 2nd Half Marathon [NOV]
This course heads East from Yokuts Park on the bike path along the Kern River.
Also an out and back course designed for quick times. Sponsored by Bakersfield Track Club.
Lake Tahoe Marathon [SEPT]
The marathon is run on Saturday starting on Commons Beach in Tahoe City and finishes on Pope Beach near South Lake Tahoe.
The marathon, 20 Miler, and half, are run along the spectacular west shore of Lake Tahoe
and include challenging hills around spectacular Emerald Bay.
The 10K which begins at Inspiration Point over looking Emerald Bay is breath taking scenic and 99% downhill.
Events include 72-mile ultra marathon and 3-day triple marathon.
Maui Marathon [SEP]
The Maui Marathon course is undoubtedly one of the most scenic marathon courses in the world with over 17 miles of oceanfront running.
The race starts in the darkness so that you can witness the beauty of a Hawaiian sunrise while running.
St George Marathon [OCT]
Included in Runner`s World 10 Most Scenic and Fastest Marathons and Top 20 Marathons in the USA. It begins in the majestic Pine Valley mountains
and descends nearly 2600 feet through scenic southwest Utah, to the beautiful Worthern Park.
Valley of Fire Marathon [NOV]
Out and back course through the Valley of Fire State Park in Southern Nevada.
This course features scenic rolling hills through beautiful red rock formations.
Las Vegas International Marathon [DEC]
This race starts outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and runs the length of the Las Vegas Strip to
the Fremont Street Experience and then west Torrey Pines Dr and back to the Mandalay Bay.
There is also a Half Marathon. Many of Las Vegas' famous celebrity performers provide live
entertainment during the race.
Honolulu Marathon [DEC]
Est. 1973. The Honolulu Marathon was the country’s third largest marathon last year with 24,575 finishers.
Events include fitness expo at the Honolulu Convention Center and all you can eat Laua dinner and concert
featuring Hawaiian music, dance show and special guest performer.
The Honolulu Marathon's scenic course includes spectacular ocean views alongside world-famous Waikiki Beach, and Diamond Head
Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K [DEC]
Competitors will run past some of Pasadena’s greatest landmarks including the Rose Bowl,
the Colorado Bridge, the Arroyo Seco, Devil’s Gate Dam, JPL, and the new Flintwash Bridge.
A major course section runs on the nature trails of Hahamonga Watershed Park.
Death Valley Borax Marathon [DEC]
You'll admire the beauty of the surrounding desert as you follow this paved run from Furnace Creek Ranch along SR-190 through the heart of Death Valley National Park.
The entire course is below sea level with fantastic vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges: the Panamints, the Funerals, the Cottonwoods, the Blacks and the Grapevines.
