Farmington (Pop: 37,900) is the closest city to the famed Four Corners of the United States.

This town is located at the junction of the San Juan, Animas, and La Plata rivers, on the Colorado Plateau in the northwest part of the San Juan Basin.

Farmington is known across New Mexico and throughout the southwest for its baseball and the Ricketts Ball Park, Home of the Connie Mack World Series. Farmington High School has claimed the AAAA Baseball State Championship four years in a row.



The Navajo Nation (reservation) lies to the West, The Ute Mountain Indian Reservation is to the NW, and the Southern Ute Indian Reservation is to the NE. Historic Native American sites are close by. Aztec Ruins National Monument and Salmon Ruins are ancient pueblo sites short distances northeast and east of Farmington. Mesa Verde National Park is about 40 miles (64 km) to the NW, and Chaco Culture National Historical Park is about 50 miles (80 km) to the SE.

Please note that Northern New Mexico is heavily visited in the summer (May-August) which makes getting reservations difficult. The best time to visit is March / April / September / October when there is beautiful weather and less competition for reservations. New Mexico area code is 505.
