This is probably the largest Free Public Zoo in the nation. A naturalistic setting of bluffs, glades and lakes is home to 3,600 wild animals. Highlights include:
Jungle of the Apes - Tropical rain forest is home to orangutans, chimpanzess and gorillas. Big Cat Country - Big felines live amid rocky dens, pools and waterfalls. 
Monsanto Insectarium - One of the few exhibits in the country dedicated solely to bugs. 20 major exhibits area show off over 100 species of live insects. Admission: $4; River's Edge - Mythical waterway exhibit with animals that would interact along the river. Elephants, cheetas, hyenas, hippos, rhinos, warthogs, giant anteaters and much more. Living World Education Center - Exhibits cover 150 species of animals and their environments. Emerson Electric Children's Zoo - with amphitheater, aviary and play area and hands-on exhibits. Zooline - 1.5 mile miniature railroad includes a narrated tour of zoo grounds and exhibits. There are four stations where you can depart, visit exhibits and reboard the train. Train Fare: $4.
