The town of Mexico was first established in 1837 and during the 19th century it was a popular horse-racing destination. In the early 1900's the discovery of vast clay deposits created a prosperous fireclay brick industry.

The Graceland, a 1857 house, houses a collection of old wedding dresses, large doll collection and exhibits on the development of saddle horses in Missouri.

Missouri Military Academy
Rated as one of the top military schools in the nation, it is also home to the Fusiliers, a national champion drill team. A public demonstration by the drill team is done each Sunday at 1:40PM, Sept-May. 888-564-6662.
