Boonville / Arrow Rock marks the point where the old Santa Fe Trail crossed the Missouri river. The towns here did a lot of business with the great wagon trains headed to the Southwest.

Boonville was an early town doing business with wagon trains on the Old Santa Fe Trail as they crossed the Missouri River.

The First battle of the Civil War in Missouri was fought here on June 17, 1861. Union troops under Gen. Nathaniel Lyon defeated state troops led by Gov. Claiborne Jackson.

Boone's Lick State Historic Park

Located 10 miles north off SR-87 are two salt springs (licks) used by Daniel Boone's two sons, Daniel and Nathan, to produce salt from 1806-14.

Katy Trail State Park - Trailhead
200-mile scenic trail follows the path of the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, roughly parallel to the Missouri River. Recognized as the longest rails to trails conversion in the country stretching from St. Charles to Sedalia.
