Shepherd of the Hills dates back to 1907, making it the original Branson Showplace. It's centerpiece is the Shepherd of the Hills Play - based on the work by Harold Bell Wright. This classic story tells the lives, loves and fears of the Ozark mountain people. The cast includes 80 actors, 25 horses, 30 sheep, 4 wagons and even a 1906 Dewit automobile on a stage as large as a football field. It includes a country square dance, gunfight and more.
The Trail of Lights - Nov-Dec - popular Christmas experience, has opened over 15 years in Branson.
It is a drive-thru animation display that transports visitors into the very heart of Christmas.

The Newborn King Drama 6PM Wedz-Sun / Nov 9 - Dec 11
Ronnie Prophet Breakfast Show 9:15AM Mon-Fri / Apr - Dec
304 page paperback by Harold Bell Wright - wildly popular in 1907.
The Shepherd of the Hills is the classic story of the stranger
who takes the Old Trail deep into the Ozark mountains, many miles
from civilization. His appearance signals intellect and culture, yet
his countenance is marked by grief and disappointment. He is a man
with a mission, yet one which no one understands. What is his purpose
in taking on the lowly work of tending local sheep? And how is it that
he befriends these simple hill folk, despite his coming from the world beyond the ridges?
