Mormon Handcart Visitors Center - Wyoming

Between 1856 and 1860 many early Mormon pioneers traveled through here by means of handcarts. Although most early pioneers traveled west using a covered wagon and team of oxen, there were many who couldn't afford such travel accommodations. Center features historic displays, handcart treks and overnight camping.

Vernal Utah Temple

Originally, this building served as the Uintah Stake Tabernacle for Latter-day Saints in eastern Utah. The building was built with considerable donated labor from the fall of 1899 until it was dedicated on August 24, 1907 by LDS Church President Joseph F. Smith. Temple district include Eastern Utah and Northwestern Colorado.

This is one of the first smaller temples announced by President Gordon B Hinckley at the October 1997 General Conference. It launched a new effort to make temples more accessible to church membership in the more remote locations of the planet and a huge upswing in worldwide temple construction. Temple district includes southeast Utah and southwest Colorado.
