Looks like this place got a new name and logo (Jan 2000) - Denver Museum of Nature & Science. (Was formerly Denver Museum of Natural History.)
Widely acclaimed as one of the largest natural history museums in the country, Denver Museum of Natural History has many exhibits and dioramas of mammals, birds, fossils, skeletons, meteorites, gold nuggets and more inside a three story facility. Over 90 dioramas to entertain - also very popular for families with children.
Second most popular attraction in Colorado. 1.7 million visitors annually.
Also noteworthy is the incredible view of the downtown Denver skyline against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains as seen from the front entrance of the museum.

Gates Planetarium - daily star show presentations
IMAX theatre - four-story screen
Special Educational Programs - these
are great for kids but fill up fast.
Prehistoric Journey -
(don't miss the skeleton of Tyrannosaurus Rex located by main entrance)
This $7.7 million exhibit includes saber-toothed tigers and giant sloth.
Explore Colorado - Fascinating collection
of interactive dioramas present eight different ecosystems
native to the state of Colorado.
Insects
American Indian Cultures - Ethnographic
hall looks at the past 200-300 years at various diverse tribes native to
North America. Includes Cheyenne, Aluet, Yupik, Inupiat, Inuit, Navajo,
Hopi, Ute and many more.
Egyptian Mummies - exhibit presents why
and how the early Egyptians preserved their dead. Includes two
3,000 year-old mummies with beautifully decorated coffins and burial
treasures.
Rare Birds Gallery - Hundreds of
unusual, rare and even extinct fowl are carefully preserved.
Hall of Life - Human body and health
Gems and Minerals - samples of Colorado Gold nuggets
and the largest rhodochrosite gem in the world.
South Pacific Islands - culture and history
Australia - culture and history
Africa - culture and history
T-Rex Cafeteria - onsite restaurant
Vikings - the North Atlantic Saga - [March 2- May 28, 2001]
Special exhibition covers the crossing from Scandinavia to North
America by Europeans over 500 years before Columbus. Special
treasures include silver hoards, looted jewelry and medieval
church carvings dated 1050-1400 AD.
Voyages of Discovery - [Sept 7, 2001- Jan 4, 2002]
Special exhibition follows the exploit of several famous British
explorers including Cook and Darwin. Precious specimens, artifacts,
journals and other historical items will be featured.
Space Science - [Spring 2003]
Special new exhibit is coming to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science -
in the midst of development a large Space Science Center.
To include on-site interactive space exhibits and renovated state-of-
the-art planetarium.
