One of the premier yachting events of the Caribbean. For over 30 years hundreds of boats gather at English Harbour for a five day series of races. Many onshore festivities in the evening.
Anguilla Boat Race Week and Carnival -First Week in August
Boating is the national pasttime of Anquilla and is quite a sight. At holiday times custom made boats sail around the island. Follow the crowds from beach to beach watching the progress of the race and sampling many barbeques, music, dancing and festivities.
Dominica - Get out and hike to Boiling Lake, where volcanic fumaroles cause the water to steam at 197 degrees. Also on the island is Morne Trois Piton National Park with the greenest rain forests and best waterfalls of the Caribbean.
Curacao - Sail under Queen Juliana Bridge (the highest in the region) into majestic Santa Anna Bay. Dock at the port of Willemstad which has lots of wonderful attractions. On the other side of the island is the Curacao Seaquarium.
Sir Francis Drake Channel - Running the 35 mile length of the British Virgin Islands.
Barbados - Visit Harriman's Cave (large sea caves complete with tram tours) and Sam Lord's Castle (now a resort) located in the capital of Bridgetown.
Colonial City located in Santo Domingo. Major historical site in the Caribbean's oldest city, resting place of the first great yachtsman of the Caribbean - Christospher Columbus.
Riviere-Salee - a narrow four-mile strait seperating the main islands of Guadaloupe, which connect to each by means of a drawbridge.
Rodney Bay Marina - Located in St. Lucia, A protected lagoon on NW tip of the island. Largest marina south of St. Thomas and host for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers and of Europa, a around-the-world rally for cruisers.
The Grenadines - Chain of 32 islets and cays, many uninhabited, hideout for royalty and celebrities.
