University of Phoenix Stadium
Cardinal Stadium (NFL)
NCAA Fiesta Bowl
1 Cardinals Drive, Glendale AZ 85305;
Arizona big football stadium (85,000 seats) is located 12.5 miles northwest of Downtown Phoenix and first opened in August 2006. The stadium is located next door to the Jobing.com Arena and it features the first fully retractable natural grass playing surface built in the United States on top of an AirField Systems drainage system. An opening on one side of the stadium allows the playing field to move to the exterior of the building, allowing the entire natural turf playing surface to be exposed to daylight.
Arizona's big (19,000 seats) indoor sports and entertainment arena located just 12.5 miles northwest of Downtown Phoenix and just nextdoor to University of Phoenix Stadium. Completed in 2003 at cost of $220 million it hosts games for hockey, lacrosse, basketball and concerts.
This 13,000-seat baseball stadium in Northwest Phoenix is owned and operated by The City of Glendale. It is the spring training homes (The Cactus League) of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox.
It also is the home field of the Arizona League Dodgers.
The City of Glendale bills outself as Arizona's Antique Capital. There are more than 70 antique and specialty shops adjacent to a beautiful city park and library. The Catlin Court Historic District houses residential bungalows that have been converted into unique and quaint shops.
Nearly half of Catlin Court's 82 historic buildings reflect the bungalow style of the early 1920s. Step back in time with a walking tour of this neighborhood.
Operated by the ASU School of Human Evolution and Social Change.
This museum preserves public access to the Hedgpeth Hills petroglyph site

Luke AFB is a major training base of the US Air Force Air Education and Training Command (AETC), training pilots in the F-16 Fighting Falcon. This base was founded in 1940. On 31 March 2011 it was announced that the F-35 Lightning II would replace the F-16 as the primary training aircraft at Luke, although the date of deployment of the new aircraft to Luke and reorganization plans were not announced.
Luke Air Force Base is the largest and only active-duty F-16 Fighting Falcon training base in the world with more than 200 F-16s assigned. The host command at Luke is the 56th Fighter Wing (56 FW), under Air Education and Training Command's 19th Air Force.
Unfortunately, the Air Park Museum is not easily accessible to the general public. Groups can arrange tours through the base public affairs office, but individuals need to know someone on base who can vouch for them.
