    Stroll around meticulously manicured gardens or investigate a fanciful cactus garden. Come for your free tour of the visitors' center and see a beautiful Christus statue, videos, an exhibit of God's Plan for His Family, and interactive displays. Besides the usual attractions, the visitors' center also features special presentations at Christmas and Easter.

    Get into the Christmas spirit by gazing at 750,000 twinkling lights set in the picturesque desert landscape of citrus trees, cacti, and palm trees. The lights display 50 life-size figures, including a Nativity scene, the three Wise Men and their camels, and others. Also at the visitors' center, enjoy a short film depicting the birth of Christ. At Easter, celebrate Christ's miraculous Resurrection by attending the free outdoor pageant, Jesus the Christ. The production reenacts events in the Savior's life through music, dance, and drama.

    The seventh operating temple of the LDS Church, the Mesa Temple is located just east of the original Mesa Townsite, settled by Mormon pioneers, the Mesa Arizona Temple anchors a historic district, which has predominantly retained its residential character. A public visitors' center shares the meticulously manicured grounds of the temple, which feature a cactus garden and large reflection pools. The Easter season brings thousands of guests to the temple grounds every year to watch Jesus the Christ, the largest annual outdoor easter pageant in the world. At Christmas time, the grounds are converted to an exquisite Nativity display accented by hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights.

    The Mesa Arizona Temple is one of three temples built with no towers or spires. Carved friezes decorate each corner of the top of the temple, depicting the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy that the Lord would gather His people in the last days from the four corners of the earth. The temple exterior is concrete reinforced with 130 tons of steel and then faced with glazed egg-shell colored terra cotta tiles. The temple design is a modification of the classic style, suggestive of pre-Columbian temples and the Temple of Herod.

    43rd operating temple of the LDS Church, this building feature a modern six-spire design with white precast stone walls and copper roof with detailing. The highest of the six spires is 119 feet, topped by a 10 foot gold-leafed statue of the Angel Moroni. Temple district covers Southern Nevada and northwest region of Arizona.
