Tour Sea Life Center
A $52 million facility schedule to open to the general public in May 1998,
The Alaska Sea Life Center - has 115,000 square feet of space to
house exhibits, laboratories, and an animal research clinic. It will
feature arctic birds, sea lions, fish and harbor seals in their simulated
natural environment.
The Sea Life Center is the first cold-water marine research facility
built in the Western Hemisphere. Funding came from the City of Seward,
The Exxon Valdez oil spill settlement and private donations.
